President Obama’s daughters will be bridesmaids for a couple who once worked for the first family, according to TMZ.
The president’s former bodyguard Shaun West is getting married to first lady Michelle Obama’s one-time chief of staff Kristen Jarvis.
While Malia and Sasha Obama will be joined by their mother at the ceremony, the president is not expected to attend. The ceremony is expected to be held in November at the Bellevue Conference Center in Chantilly, Va., about a 40-minute drive from the White House.
The Daily Mail reported Jarvis reportedly formed a tight bond with the Obama family during the more than seven years she worked for them. She was particularly complimentary of Sasha, with whom she has formed a “big sister-little sister relationship.”
“I’ve known Sasha since she was three years old, and I couldn’t be more proud of the young woman she has become,” Jarvis wrote. “We’ve been through so many ‘firsts’ together over the years, that I couldn’t imagine this ‘first’ for me without her. Love you lady and so glad to have you up there with me on my special day!!!!”
