Bill Cosby giving life lessons and parenting tips to other inmates while behind bars

According to a representative for Bill Cosby, the incarcerated 81-year-old comedian has been passing his time in prison by giving life lessons and lectures on how to be a good parent to fellow inmates.

A representative for Cosby shared that while in prison, his client has been lecturing inmates with tips on how to reconnect with their kids post-prison, often borrowing from his renowned ’80s television persona as Cliff Huxtable on “The Cosby Show.” He is also giving advice to inmates struggling with substance abuse recovery. Cosby was convicted of drugging and assaulting Andrea Constand last April. He is serving a three to 10 year sentence for his crimes.

He is said to have started lecturing three months ago, now giving up to four lectures per week and often drawing crowds of over 100 inmates. Andrew Wyatt, Cosby’s rep, said, “These are the types of men he has wanted to get his messages across to for years, and now he has a totally captive audience.”

Many of Cosby’s lectures are involved in his work with “Man Up,” a rehabilitating group for inmates getting ready to be paroled. According to Wyatt, Cosby is also using the lectures to reconnect with his comedic roots, often drawing laughter from his audience.

Cosby made headlines on Father’s Day this weekend, when his verified account tweeted “Hey, Hey, Hey…It’s America’s Dad…I know it’s late, but to all of the Dads… It’s an honor to be called a Father, so let’s make today a renewed oath to fulfilling our purpose —strengthening our families and communities.”
