Joy Behar says Biden ‘deserves a lot of credit’ for Afghanistan withdrawal

Joy Behar praised President Joe Biden for the Afghanistan withdrawal on Tuesday as the co-host of The View returned from the show’s summer break.

“I believe that, in six months, people will say about this war, ‘Biden got us out of the longest war that Americans ever had,'” Behar said. “No other president can say that.”

She added: “I think the man deserves a lot of credit for that, and Americans will back him up, I think, in six months to a year.”

MEGHAN MCCAIN DOESN’T ‘RECOGNIZE’ FAMILY FRIEND BIDEN AFTER DEADLY WITHDRAWAL

Behar’s comments conflict with many on both sides of the aisle who have criticized the Biden-led withdrawal.

Under the president’s pullout, Americans were stranded in the Taliban-controlled country, and 13 U.S. service members were killed in an airport bombing.

With former co-host Meghan McCain no longer on the show, there was no conservative dissent to Behar’s comments, although McCain did say on Aug. 31 that she no longer recognizes Biden, a longtime McCain family friend.

“13 American soldiers are dead — most of them between the ages of 20-23 because they were put in harms way chaotically in the line of fire of a suicide bomber,” she wrote on Twitter. “Disappointed and disgusted President Biden says ‘this couldn’t have been done in a more orderly manner.'”

The only dissent came from co-host Sara Haines, who said that while she voted for Biden, she felt American forces should have remained to secure peace in the country.

“I think we had to stay there to protect what was going on,” Haines said.
