NEW YORK (AP) — New York Mayor Bill de Blasio is refusing to take questions about the latest revelations surrounding an embattled top aide.
Rachel Noerdlinger is the highly visible chief of staff to First Lady Chirlane McCray.
A Department of Investigation probe last week concluded that she did not disclose that she lived with her boyfriend, a convicted felon.
It did not recommend that she be disciplined. And de Blasio has repeatedly defended her.
The news website DNAinfo.com reported Friday that she and her underage son were in the car in 2011 when her boyfriend was arrested for marijuana possession.
And the New York Post reports that she did not disclose a tax lien.
Noerdlinger has become a flashpoint in the mayor’s strained relationship with the rank-and-file NYPD.
She has declined to comment.
