‘Marketing gimmick’: Don Trump Jr. mocks Time for naming Greta Thunberg 2019 Person of the Year

Donald Trump Jr. mocked Time magazine for choosing climate change activist Greta Thunberg as its 2019 Person of the Year.

Time leaves out the Hong Kong Protesters fighting for their lives and freedoms to push a teen being used as a marketing gimmick,” Trump said. “How dare you?”

Thunberg, 16, was chosen over the Hong Kong protesters, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, President Trump, and the whistleblower, whose report is at the center of the Ukraine scandal embroiling Trump’s presidency.

“How dare you?” is a reference to a speech Thunberg made during the United Nations earlier this year, video of which went viral on social media.

“This is all wrong. I shouldn’t be up here. I should be back in school, on the other side of the ocean,” she said. “Yet you all come to us young people for hope. How dare you!”
