U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said she was the recipient of hate speech while attending the New York City Pride March Sunday afternoon.
“We,incl my son, were booed by patrons saying hateful things as we left lunch @ Pride Parade.Our country is better than this. #HateNeverWins,” Haley tweeted.

Haley did not specify the types of comments she and her son heard.
The former South Carolina governor was appointed by President Trump and is based in New York City, where the U.N.’s headquarters is located.
The NYC Pride March takes place in Manhattan every June in honor of gay pride month.
