Democratic Texas Rep. Al Green introduced articles of impeachment against President Trump and said he will force a vote in the the coming days.
This is the second attempt by Green to force a vote on the matter.
He introduced articles of impeachment in December 2017, when the GOP ruled the House.
His motion was tabled by a vote of 364-58, but now Democrats are in the majority, and dozens want to impeach the president.
Green said Trump “has sown seeds of discord against the people of the United States and has shown he is not fit to be president of the United States.”
Green said Trump caused “a high misdemeanor” as president.
The House has two days to act on the resolution. They can call to table it or to bring it to the floor for an up or down vote.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi doesn’t want to open an impeachment inquiry against Trump, but several dozen Democrats back impeachment.
