Sen. Kamala Harris posted a video showing an interaction between her and a student who expressed concern over school shootings.
The student began to tear up as she told the California Democrat how she “was scared everyday” about being killed in an attack, adding, “I just don’t want to die.”
“No, baby, you’re not going to die,” Harris responded. “You’re not and we’re going to be smart and we are going to win. And we’re going to take on the people who are just failing to have the courage.”
“I just don’t want to die.”

Harris has previously stated that if she wins the presidential election, she will give Congress 100 days to pass gun control bills. If they fail to pass anything, she will then take executive action, adding that children should not have to go through drills at schools to prepare them for a shooter.
The former prosecutor has backed ideas such as implementing a federal gun licensing system. Her endorsement occurred after the August mass shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio.
