Tim Tebow tries out for Jacksonville Jaguars as a tight end in NFL comeback attempt

Former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow is attempting to resuscitate his professional football career and has reportedly met with an NFL team.

The 33-year-old Tebow, who recently retired from professional baseball after spending five years in the New York Mets farm system, worked out for the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars and intends to play the position of tight end, according to the New York Post.

The Jaguars, who reportedly have “some interest in signing” Tebow, are coached by Urban Meyer, who was Tebow’s college coach at the University of Florida, where the pair won two national championships.

Tebow was then drafted in the first round of the 2010 NFL draft by the Denver Broncos and bounced around the league for five years before becoming a broadcaster and ultimately signing with the Mets to play baseball.

Tebow is well known for openly wearing his Christian faith on his sleeve and has amassed a large and devoted following in conservative circles thanks in part to his vocal opposition to abortion and charity work.

Last year, Tebow, who often posts inspiring messages from the Bible on social media, said during a charity event that “saving babies” from abortion means more to him than winning a Super Bowl.

The former college star spoke at the annual anti-abortion event “The March For Life” earlier this year and told the crowd that his mother was told to abort him but ignored the advice.

“All the doctors said, ‘You need to have an abortion. You need to get rid of him. You need to get rid of him,'” Tebow said. “But she decided that she was gonna trust God [and keep the baby], even when the doctors said it could, it might cost her her life.”

“I’m so grateful my mom gave me a chance at life,” Tebow added.
