Bryan Weaver’s campaign to fill an at-large D.C. Council seat in an April special election got a big boost with President Clinton’s former political director signing on as Weaver’s campaign chairwoman.
Minyon Moore also served as a consultant on then-Senator Hillary Clinton’s 2008 campaign for president. More than that, though, she comes to the Weaver campaign as one of the District’s most prominent black women.
Weaver has a following among the young, mostly white online social networking crowd in Northwest. Moore’s presence on his campaign might help Weaver reach across the city’s racial divide as he looks to gather steam outside of Ward 1, where he’s best known.
