WATCH: 99-year-old woman ‘ecstatic’ to meet 100th great-grandchild

As a Pennsylvania woman approaches her centennial birthday, she is celebrating a rare feat — meeting her 100th great-grandchild.

Marguerite Koller, 99, also known as Grandmom Peg, was “absolutely ecstatic” to meet baby Koller William Balster earlier this month, according to Good Morning America.

Christine Stokes Balster, Grandmom Peg’s granddaughter, and her husband, Patrick Balster, brought their baby son, who is named after Grandmom Peg’s late husband William Koller, and said the moment the two met was special.

“We went to Grandmom’s, introduced her to Koller, who was named after the family name,” Stokes Balster said. “She was absolutely ecstatic. Limited words for sure. She was just so happy and felt so blessed and lucky to be holding him.”

The family’s matriarch grew up a single child and told ABC World News Tonight that she always wanted a large family.

Grandmom Peg married her husband in 1942 during World War II, and together, they had 11 children, who have since given her 56 grandchildren.

“Oh, it’s fabulous. It’s terrific!” Grandmom Peg said.
