Is Donald Trump afraid to release his tax returns? Sad!
On Tuesday, he said, “Honestly, you can’t learn very much from a tax return.” Watch the clip below.
That’s just the latest in a line of excuses Trump has made to delay and avoid releasing his tax returns. Mitt Romney noted that Trump’s back taxes should be ready to be released—those are older taxes, not taxes being filed this year.
Furthermore, there are key details that could be hiding in his tax returns. According to Romney,
“Well I think there’s something that he’s not anywhere near as wealthy as he says he is, or he hasn’t been paying the kind of taxes we would expect him to pay. Or, perhaps he hasn’t been giving money to the vets or to the disabled like he’s been telling us he’s been doing. And that’s—the reason I think theres a bombshell in there is because every time he’s asked about his taxes he dodges and delays and says ‘we’re working on it.'”
Romney also made the point that, “frankly the voters have a right to see those tax returns before who they decide who our nominee ought to be.”
