Kristin Chenoweth volunteers for Dolly Parton Broadway adaptation

When news broke Thursday about a Broadway adaption of singer Dolly Parton’s life, Broadway actress Kristin Chenoweth was quick to throw her hat in the ring for the lead role.

“I’m ready Dolly,” Kristin tweeted Friday.

Chenoweth recently showed off her Parton impression on TV, saying she listened to the country singer when she was growing up.

“Now [Parton] has said before in the past several times that she does see me as someone who could play her,” Chenoweth said.

Chenoweth already lives in New York, with several Broadway lead roles under her belt. Meanwhile, Parton has been busy selling her own line of perfume and advocating vaccines. The country superstar has also famously turned down all attempts at praise, including admittance to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and a statue in her honor.
