Barely 42% of adults agree that President Joe Biden is “mentally sharp,” according to an Issues & Insights poll published Monday.
The poll attempted to assess public perception of Biden’s mental sharpness, energy levels, and communication skills — and the results do little to flatter Biden, according to poll analysis.
Nearly 51% of respondents strongly or somewhat disagreed with the statement that Biden is “mentally sharp,” while just over 42% strongly or somewhat agreed.
Over 50% strongly or somewhat disagreed with Biden being “energetic,” while 42% agreed. About 47% disagreed that he is a “good communicator,” with 47% agreeing.

“As with any such poll, there is a sharp partisan divide, with 74% of Democrats saying Biden is mentally sharp, compared with only 13% of Republicans,” poll analysis read.
Erosion is evident in the support Biden receives from independents, middle-income adults, women, and suburbanites, according to the data.

The poll was taken among 1,306 adults between Oct. 27-29 with a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 2.8 percentage points.
