Brett Kavanaugh to turn over calendars from 1982 to support his denial

Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh plans to give the Senate Judiciary Committee calendars he has from the summer of 1982 in an effort to bolster his denial that he was not at a party described by Christine Blasey Ford, according to a new report.

Kavanaugh’s team will make the argument that the calendars do not corroborate Ford’s account of a small party at a house in Maryland where she says he forced himself on top of her and tried to remove her clothing, The New York Times reported Sunday.

However, they acknowledged to the Times that the calendars don’t disprove Ford’s allegation because he could have attended a gathering that wasn’t written down.

The calendars show Kavanaugh spent much of the summer at the beach or out of town with his parents. They also list his basketball games, movie outings, workouts, and college interviews. Some parties are written on the calendars, but mention people other than those Ford said were at the party where the alleged sexual assault occurred.

Ford is scheduled to testify before the committee Thursday. Kavanaugh, who denies the allegation, is set to testify again afterwards.
