“We are thankful to the individual who witnessed the fall and immediately called 911, as well as Sarasota County’s Emergency Services for their quick response and transportation,” his office tweeted Thursday morning.
Steube was elected to his third term in November and is a veteran of the Iraq War. His fellow lawmakers continued to wish him well after Thursday’s update, including Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA).
“I spoke with [Greg Steube] and his wife, Jen, this morning. He is in good spirits, and our entire conference prays for a swift recovery,” McCarthy said in a statement. “I informed him he will serve on the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, and he is eager to get back to work!”
“Greg Steube is as tough as they come. Ginger and I are praying for your full and speedy recovery, my friend,” Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) responded on Twitter.

“Glad to hear injuries aren’t life threatening — praying they stay that way and you will have smooth and speedy recovery,” Rep. Daniel Webster (R-FL) said.
Steube is also a star player on the Republican baseball team, knocking the ball out of the park in a rare 2021 home run.
