Every state in America has confirmed cases of coronavirus except for one

And then there was one.

West Virginia has become the only state yet to announce a confirmed case of coronavirus. The virus, which originated in central China late last year, has since spread around the country and into 49 states. There have been at least 2,110 cases and 48 deaths in states other than West Virginia.

Montana was the second-to-last state to have a confirmed case, but Gov. Steve Bullock announced Friday evening that four people have “presumptively tested positive.”

Despite not yet having a confirmed case, West Virginia was one of several states on Friday that canceled all classes for those in kindergarten through 12th grade.

President Trump held a White House news conference on Friday where he declared a national emergency in order to free up federal funds to help combat the pandemic. The president had previously announced a monthlong travel ban on countries from Europe.

The World Health Organization has declared the outbreak a global pandemic.
