President Trump scolded Tom Steyer on Twitter Friday for launching a campaign to remove him from office, and said the major Democratic donor should support his conservative agenda.
“Wacky & totally unhinged Tom Steyer, who has been fighting me and my Make America Great Again agenda from beginning, never wins elections!” Trump tweeted Friday morning.
The NexGen America chief announced last week he would pour more than $10 million into TV and social media ads that urge people to contact their members of Congress and call for Trump’s impeachment.

“He’s brought us to the brink of nuclear war, obstructed justice at the FBI, and in direct violation of the Constitution, he’s taken money from foreign governments and threatened to shut down news organizations that report the truth,” Steyer said in the ad. “If that isn’t the case for impeaching and removing a dangerous president, then what has our government become?”
Although Republicans control both chambers, Steyer said a previous GOP-controlled House has impeached a president “for far less,” a reference to former President Bill Clinton’s impeachment after his affair with intern Monica Lewinsky.
Trump tweeted congratulations to GOP leaders in the House for advancing the administration’s tax reform proposal.
“Congratulations to @SpeakerRyan, @GOPLeader, @SteveScalise and to the Republican Party on Budget passage yesterday. Now for biggest Tax Cuts,” Trump wrote.
He also thanked Fox News’ “Fox and Friends” for its favorable coverage.
“Thank you @foxandfriends. Really great job and show!” he added.
