Trump: Berlin suspect made ‘purely religious threat,’ when will US fight back?

President-elect Donald Trump asked why the United States and “all countries” have not joined the fight against religious terrorism.

“The terrorist who killed so many people in Germany said just before crime, ‘by God’s will we will slaughter you pigs, I swear, we will slaughter you. This is a purely religious threat, which turned into reality. Such hatred! When will the U.S., and all countries, fight back?” Trump said in a two-part Twitter post Friday afternoon

The president-elect was referring to Anis Amri, the now-slain suspect in Monday’s terrorist attack on a Berlin Christmas Market. Amri was killed in a shootout with police in Milan, and had allegedly pledged allegiance to the leader of the Islamic State.
