Is this the first shop to offer guns and coffee?

Firearm training with two shots of espresso — it’s what’s on the menu at a new Virginia shop that plans to deal in both guns and coffee.

Bullets and Beans is on its way to opening in Hamilton, Va., a quiet town 40 miles northwest of Washington, D.C.

The multifunctional business is meant to be a welcoming environment to people who want to learn how to protect themselves with a weapon, but scared about where to seek out the training.

“It’s very inviting, it’s very family friendly. We want to do the firearms instruction. But you also have to have a coffee shop,” co-owner Tammy Jones told WUSA.

Tammy and her husband, Kevin, said the two-story 1880s bank building would have a coffee shop downstairs and gun training on the second floor.

The gun portion of the store is expected to open in July, but the owners are having more difficulty getting permission for the food and beverage portion of the business.
