‘This is ridiculous’: Meghan’s father tells Prince Harry to ‘man up’

The father of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, told Prince Harry to “man up” during an interview with Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan.

Thomas Markle is embroiled in a legal dispute with his daughter after Meghan, 38, sued Mail on Sunday for breach of copyright after it published a letter between father and daughter. The Sunday version of the Daily Mail claims Meghan knew it would publish the letter because of her “elaborate handwriting.”

“If it comes to meeting them in a courtroom, that’s great. At least I finally get to see them,” Markle said. “But I hope we don’t have, I don’t want a face-off or have a battle with them, that’s not what I’m looking for.”

Morgan suggested the couple had shown “very little interest” in Markle as he struggled with health complications over the past year. Markle said his ex-wife Doria Ragland, mother of Meghan, refuses to respond or meet with him despite his writing letters asking Ragland to speak with him.

Morgan asked what Markle would say to his daughter if she were watching. “I’d say I love you, and let’s sit down and work this out. She was the closest thing to me for years and years and years,” Markle said. “This is ridiculous.”

Markle hasn’t spoken with Meghan since he was exposed for staging paparazzi photos ahead of her wedding to Harry.

“I regret doing that, but as far as I’m concerned, I was set up,” Markle responded. “It was a dumb thing to do. I realized it in the process of doing it. It was done to improve my image.”

Morgan asked what Markle would say to Harry if he could speak to him. “Man up and fly down and see me,” Markle responded.
