Dunbar students charged with sexually assaulting 14-year-old

Police have charged six Dunbar High School students with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl during school hours, officials said.

The suspects, all male juveniles, are now in police custody for first-degree sexual assault.

The female student told police she was attacked Monday afternoon on or near a stairwell inside the Northwest school building on the 1300 block of New Jersey Avenue.

She said five of the suspects raped her while one boy held his hand over her mouth to keep her quiet, according to D.C. Metropolitan police.

The victim first reported the assault to a parent on Monday evening. She was taken to a hospital and authorities were called.
