Sen. Elizabeth Warren posted a slide of images of Fox News opinion hosts under a caption that read “stop the hate-for-profit Fox News racket” after she declined a town hall invite from the network.
Included in the Massachusetts Democrat’s Instagram post were images of Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, Jeanine Pirro, and Laura Ingraham.
The network’s news reporters, not opinion hosts, interviewed other Democratic presidential candidates who have participated in town halls in recent weeks.
Warren explained in a series of tweets earlier in the day that she refused the offer because Fox News panders to racists and conspiracy theorists and appearing on the network would give it a financial boost.
The 2020 Democratic presidential hopeful also sent a fundraising email to supporters, reiterating her tweets.
“Face to face, person to person, we’ll keep building our grassroots movement. Without doing any favors for Fox News. Without getting any help from any Super PAC,” the email said. “You and me — we’ll keep fighting side by side. We’re building this together.”
[Opinion: Warren’s broadside against Fox News is obvious red meat for a blue base]
