Strathmore townhouses scheduled to open in spring

Construction has begun on Symphony Park, the luxury brownstone community for art lovers planned at the Strathmore Music Center in North Bethesda.

The site, with the first townhouses slated to open in spring, is one of several along Rockville Pike that aims to help you forget you’re in suburbia. But unlike other developments that add city-like elements to give its residents walkable communities, Symphony Park wants its residents to forget they’re anywhere near a city.

The community “will keep residents connected to nature, to one another, and to the fine arts and performing arts of Strathmore,” which can be accessed via a “tree-lined pedestrian path” the website says. The neighborhood features a wooded setting and “the light-filled, relaxing homes themselves will inspire residents’ creativity.”

It’s a tall order — more than 52,000 cars zoom down that section of Rockville Pike each day, according to the Maryland Department of Transportation.
