Surf’s up as this state gets its first Chick-fil-A restaurant


The first Chick-fil-A restaurant in Hawaii is preparing to open.

With the opening of several restaurants planned over the next five years, Maui is slated to be the first Hawaiian island to get a Chick-fil-A restaurant come Sept. 1, according to KHON.

OLD-SCHOOL STYLE: SCHOOL DISTRICT BRINGS BACK PUNISHMENT BY PADDLE

To celebrate the opening, Chick-fil-A donated $25,000 to the Maui Food Bank and will give 100 local heroes free meals for a year in recognition of the impact they make within the area.

Chick-fil-A has more than 2,000 restaurants in the mainland United States.

Additional Hawaiian locations set to open by early 2023 will include restaurants on the island of O’ahu in Honolulu and Kapolei.
