WATCH: Florida AG asks who’s ‘running the show’ as ‘radical fraud’ sweeps US

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody, a Republican, blasted the federal government for overstepping its authority regarding mask mandates and slammed activists attempting to limit parents’ rights concerning their children’s education.

When Fox & Friends co-host Steve Doocy asked Moody Wednesday about the backlash to the state’s Parental Rights in Education Act, she said its critics are misinformed, noting that the bill does not attack the LGBT community but looks to protect parental rights.

“You know, anyone who wants to talk about this bill with a leader should have to say how young do you believe we should talk about sexual interests with children,” Moody said. “This misinformation about this bill is all about this radical fraud on the American public.”

Amid Disney’s outspoken criticism of the bill, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has announced a special legislative session to look at removing the entertainment company’s self-governing status within the state.

Moody said there has not been a review of special district privileges in decades.

“Leaders have looked back at when we started requiring that these special passing districts are for the benefit of the public interests, Moody noted. “We haven’t had a review, and it’s not just the Disney special taxing district, its other districts as well. There hasn’t been a review to ensure the structure is in compliance or there is transparency as was anticipated.”

The attorney general also praised the Florida judge who overturned the extended federal travel mask mandate for planes and U.S. public transportation. The Department of Justice has since announced it will file an appeal if the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suggest it.

Doocy further asked Moody if the CDC is running the country as opposed to President Joe Biden or the Department of Justice.

“That’s a big question, right?” Moody responded. “Who is actually running the show in Washington?”

“It’s another win for freedom out of Florida. I was so incredibly proud of this decision by a great judge,” Moody continued. “This was the right ruling. It needs to stand. It’s almost like Washington can’t take a loss, but it was unfounded. There is no legal justification for it, and the court was right to vacate that rule.”
