Clinton on Huma Abedin’s role in new FBI revelations: ‘Your guess is as good as mine’

Hillary Clinton was unable to say Friday evening what role her longtime aide Huma Abedin played in the FBI’s revelation that it found additional emails possibly linked to the Democratic nominee’s private homebrew server.

“You know, we’ve heard these rumors. We don’t know what to believe. And I’m sure there will be even more rumors,” Clinton told reporters at a press conference Friday evening.

The FBI is looking into a stash of emails found on a laptop shared by Abedin and her estranged husband, disgraced former congressman Anthony Weiner, who is under investigation for allegedly sexting a minor.

The laptop may contain as many as 1,000 emails, and agents are working to see if they relate to official government work, or if they are classified, or if they are simply duplicates of emails authorities already processed, the Washington Post reported.

Clinton was unable to comment Friday evening on whether she knew anything about reports showing the newly discovered emails were found on devices that belonged to Abedin and Weiner.

She did, however, call on the FBI to share “whatever facts” they have on the emails.

“It is incumbent upon the FBI to tell us what they’re talking about,” Clinton told reporters. “Because, right now, your guess is as good as mine. And I don’t think that’s good enough.”
