With most of the party’s stars away from the convention while monitoring Hurricane Gustav’s impact on Louisiana, the soon-to-be nominee’s wife met with Louisiana’s delegation in Minnesota for a Monday-morning breakfast to offer support. Greeted with what Louisiana political strategist Bill Kearney called “great excitement,” Mrs. McCain told the delegates that her husband loves New Orleans — and indicated that he might make a speech from there later in the week.
