George H.W. Bush is in ‘great spirits’ following hospitalization, spokesman says

Former President George H.W. Bush is in “great spirits” while remaining hospitalized for a blood infection, his spokesman said Monday.

“President @GeorgeHWBush will remain in @MethodistHosp to continue regaining strength,” spokesman Jim McGrath tweeted. “41 is in great spirits and is looking forward to going home soon.”

Bush was hospitalized for a blood infection last week, just one day after he laid his wife, former first lady Barbara Bush, to rest. The health scare landed him in the intensive care unit but he has since moved out to a regular patient room where he is receiving treatment and expected to leave soon.

Following his stay in the intensive care unit, Bush assured everyone that he’s feeling better and “more focused on the Houston Rockets” run in the NBA playoffs.
