Fox News ‘strongly’ condemns ‘horrific’ comments by former Tucker Carlson writer

The top brass at Fox News condemned one of the lead writers behind Tucker Carlson Tonight who resigned after getting outed for racist and homophobic posts.

Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott and Fox News Media president and executive editor Jay Wallace sent a memo to the staff on Saturday decrying Blake Neff’s “horrendous and deeply offensive racist, sexist and homophobic comments.”

“We want to make abundantly clear that FOX News Media strongly condemns this horrific racist, misogynistic and homophobic behavior,” they wrote in the memo. “Neff’s abhorrent conduct on this forum was never divulged to the show or the network until Friday, at which point we swiftly accepted his resignation. Make no mistake, actions such as his cannot and will not be tolerated at any time in any part of our work force.”

The memo added that Carlson will address the situation on his show Monday night.

“Blake Neff has resigned,” Fox News confirmed to the Washington Examiner on Friday after it was revealed that he was a frequent poster on a web forum called AutoAdmit by CNN. Neff, using the pseudonym CharlesXII, repeatedly posted inappropriate slurs and remarks for the past several years.

In a recent interview with the Dartmouth Alumni Magazine, he said that “anything [Carlson is] reading off the teleprompter, the first draft was written by me.”

Carlson currently has the highest-rated show on cable news. His monologues have become must-watch TV for conservatives, President Trump included, and many often amplify his show by tweeting out clips from it.
