In a sharply contentious primary season, one photo is showing that partisan differences don’t need to govern every facet of our lives.
A photo of former President George W. Bush embracing Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton at former first lady Nancy Reagan’s funeral is going viral.
CNN political director David Chalian tweeted the photo out Sunday night with the caption, “This may be the best photo from Mrs. Reagan’s funeral.”
It’s amassed more than 4,000 retweets and more than 5,000 Twitter “likes.”
The Clintons and Bushes have obvious political history: former President Bill Clinton defeated former President George H.W. Bush in his bid for re-election; George W. Bush narrowly beat Clinton Vice President Al Gore in 2000; and until recently, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush was hoping to face off against Hillary Clinton in the November election.
