George Thorogood: Bad to the bone, but good on stage

Blues band George Thorogood and the Destroyers will head to Pier Six Pavilion on Tuesday for their 2008 summertime tour with special guest Buddy Guy.

Thorogood was named Billboard magazine’s top blues artist of 2005 and released his 12th studio album, “The Hard Stuff,” in 2006. A performer since 1974, Thorogood is known for such hits as “Bad to The Bone” and “Move It On Over.”

Although currently working on an untitled new album, the 58-year-old singer hasn’t stopped his rigorous touring schedule — in 2007, the band performed at more than 70 shows in the United States, including headlining concerts, a dozen dates with Bryan Adams and key performances at prestigious festivals.

The show starts at 6 p.m. at Pier Six at 731 Eastern Ave. in Baltimore. Tickets are $40 to $65. For more information, visit www.gthorogood.com.
