Three people were injured when their plane crashed in Maryland.
Maryland State police said pilot Austen F. Ehly, 24, of Pasadena, and passengers Kevin M. Warnke, 23, of Alexandria, and Sean C. Moran, 24, of Easton, were taken to hospitals after their single-engine Piper airplane crashed at Ridgely Airport in Caroline County shortly after 6 p.m. Monday.
The plane appeared to be arriving for landing when it crashed in a field at the airport, just short of the runway.
A passerby pulled one man from the plane and emergency crews rescued the other two men, police said.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the cause of the crash.
