Martha McSally favored to defeat Kyrsten Sinema in Arizona Senate race: Poll

Rep. Martha McSally, R-Ariz., pulled ahead of Democratic challenger Rep. Kyrsten Sinema in the latest poll out from Arizona, showing her with a 7-point lead in the race for a U.S. Senate seat.

McSally holds 52 percent of the vote, according to a Wednesday poll by ABC15 Arizona and OH Predictive Insights, compared to Sinema’s 45 percent.

Two percent said they were still undecided and 1 percent indicated that they would vote for Green Party candidate Angela Green.

RealClearPolitics has Sinema over McSally in its polling average by only 0.7 percentage points.

The past few polls have had Sinema coming out over McSally, and the chief pollster for OH Predictive Insights said that the shift could be linked to the confirmation of now-Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh in November and the caravan making its way to the southern border by way of Mexico.

“If Kavanaugh didn’t happen I think it’d be an extremely tight race,” pollster Mike Noble said. “If not, I’d actually say the edge would go to Sinema but after seeing the polling — seeing the results, everything else — I think that McSally will end up winning coming election night.”
