‘We’ll keep asking every week’: Chris Wallace says Biden declined interview request after Trump grilling

Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace name-dropped former Vice President Joe Biden and his refusal to do a sit down for an interview with him.

Wallace mentioned Biden on Sunday, just a week after he grilled President Trump, who at the time accused Biden of not being able to handle the tough questioning Wallace put him through.

“In our interview last week with President Trump, he questioned whether his Democratic opponent Joe Biden could handle a similar encounter,” Wallace said on his show on Sunday. “Well, this week, we asked the Biden campaign for an interview, and they said the former vice president was not available. We’ll keep asking every week.”

After his hour-long interview with Trump, Wallace gave the president credit for sitting down with him and providing answers on a variety of topics, including the coronavirus pandemic and the national unrest across the country about race relations. He added that Biden is “going to have to be more exposed” than he has been so far in the 2020 presidential contest and “take questions just as tough as the ones I asked this president.”

Trump, during his sit-down with Wallace, encouraged Biden to do a similar interview and predicted that the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee would not fair well.

“Let Biden sit through an interview like this,” Trump said. “He’ll be on the ground crying for mommy. He’ll say, ‘Mommy, mommy, please, take me home.’”
