Fox News host Sean Hannity tore into Omarosa Manigault Newman’s publisher for not fact-checking the claims in her forthcoming tell-all book about her time in Trump administration.
“Big question tonight, how does a publisher, in this day and age of lawsuits, how do they not fact-check any of these claims?” Hannity said on his evening program. “How does any self-respecting publisher allow this to go to print? Why didn’t they bring in the lawyers?”
Manigault Newman’s publisher is Gallery Books, a division of Simon & Schuster, which billed her book, “Unhinged: An Insider’s Account of the Trump White House,” as being an “explosive, jaw-dropping account.”
The ex-White House aide has already embarked on a media blitz to promote the book, which will hit bookshelves on Tuesday and has ginned up excitement by releasing tape conversations she had with Trump administration officials, including one in which chief of staff John Kelly told her she was getting fired. The White House is exploring options for legal action against Manigault Newman for making a secret recording in the Situation Room, ABC News reported on Sunday.

The Washington Examiner obtained an advance copy of the book, which includes a number of wild claims, including that Trump is experiencing a “mental decline,” the author heard of a tape in which Trump used the N-word, and that his marriage to Melania Trump is in jeopardy.
The White House has said the book is “riddled with lies.”
