Lebron James quipped that President Trump was voted into the White House because of “goofy votes.”
The Cleveland Cavaliers small forward was speaking to reporters Friday about players voting for NBA All Star starters when he was asked if he thinks the voting process was a success. James replied with a knock on the new president.
“There’s always goofy votes. I mean, Donald Trump is our president,” he said, prompting laughs from those gathered around.
James endorsed Democrat Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election and appeared with her at a campaign event. It was also reported late last year that he refused to stay at a Trump hotel in Manhattan with his team while they were in town for a basketball game.
