“Manhattan Madam” Kristin Davis, who has a longtime association with former Trump adviser Roger Stone, said there was “cause for concern” that special counsel Robert Mueller’s team is honing in on the notorious political trickster.
CNN’s Chris Cuomo pressed Davis, who was subpoenaed by Mueller and testified before a grand jury on Friday, if she came away from the testimony under the impression that investigators were “coming for Roger Stone.”
“I did. I think that there’s cause for concern based on that they just want to believe something happened, which I don’t believe it did,” Davis, who was previously convicted of running a prostitution ring in New York City, told Cuomo.
Davis also said that Mueller’s office seemed to have a “rapport” with the jurors and that some questions were leading, although Cuomo said those questions were permissible.
“So leading questions are OK, but you’re saying they betrayed an intention?” Cuomo asked.
“Correct. And those types of questions, even though they’re OK, doesn’t mean they’re right,” Davis said.

The revelation from Davis comes days after the intermediary for Stone and WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange was subpoenaed by Mueller.
Stone has attracted scrutiny from investigators after he appeared to predict the publication of stolen documents on the WikiLeaks website. In 2016, he tweeted that Hillary Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta and his brother lobbyist Tony Podesta’s “time in the barrel” was soon coming. But Stone has denied ever having any prior knowledge from WikiLeaks about the release of Podesta’s emails and has said the statement was based off of his own investigations of Podesta and his brother Tony.
Several of Stone’s associates and his finances are being examined by Mueller, who is spearheading the federal investigation into Russian interference in 2016 and possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.
Stone is the godfather to Davis’ son.
