The Judicial Crisis Network is launching new ads targeting Democratic Sens. Claire McCaskill of Missouri and Joe Donnelly of Indiana in the battle over Judge Neil Gorsuch’s Supreme Court nomination.
The ads will air on television and online in Missouri and Indiana. The Judicial Crisis Network is spending $1 million in Missouri and about $1.3 million in Indiana.
“Why is Claire McCaskill threatening gridlock over [Gorsuch’s] confirmation? Because she’s lost touch with Missouri,” a narrator says in an ad targeting McCaskill. “Tell Claire McCaskill: Remember who you represent, confirm Gorsuch.”
The ad targeting Donnelly features a narrator saying the Indiana Democrat “went to Washington to represent us, now his allies are Washington liberals,” while Gorsuch is a Supreme Court nominee who has “Indiana values.”
The Judicial Crisis Network is planning other grassroots mobilizing events as part of its effort to push Gorsuch’s Supreme Court bid.
“With Congress on recess this week, JCN is hosting 11 press events in 11 states, including in Missouri and Indiana, featuring local elected officials, small business leaders, farmers and other local advocates,” said Carrie Severino, Judicial Crisis Network chief counsel and policy director.
The newest efforts in Indiana and Missouri are part of a larger $10 million campaign waged by the Judicial Crisis Network to get the federal appeals court judge confirmed.
