The 911 line in Fairfax County is in need of emergency service, stat.
Some calls to 911 are getting through, but many are not, said a county spokesman.
“We’re trying to work with the telephone provider to figure out exactly what the problem is,” he said.
Until further notice, if 911 calls fail to connect, people in Fairfax in need of emergency medical or fire assistance should call 703-691-2233.
The problems were first recognized by county authorities at about 9:45 a.m.
