U.S. District Judge Emmet G. Sullivan ordered the text of a voice mail between Michael Flynn and the Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak be made public.
The judge said Thursday that the transcript of the conversation must be made public on the court website by May 31. The transcript will reveal the full text of what has only been given in fragments to the public through the redacted Mueller report and various court filings.
The judge ordered prosecutors to file all transcripts of audio recordings of Flynn including any others with Russian officials.
In court filings released Thursday, federal prosecutors said Flynn told them the Trump administration tried to end his cooperation with prosecutors.
“The defendant informed the government of multiple instances, both before and after his guilty plea, where either he or his attorneys received communications from persons connected to the Administration or Congress that could have affected both his willingness to cooperate and the completeness of that cooperation,” the filings stated.
Prosecutors said they were unaware of some of the attempts to end his cooperation before Flynn revealed it to them.
In 2017, Flynn pleaded guilty to lying to federal investigators about his conversations with the Russian ambassador. Mueller said Flynn gave his investigation useful information and recommended Flynn receive a lenient prison sentence.
