Report: Billy Bush won’t be fired in wake of Trump video

Today” host Billy Bush will reportedly not be fired for his role in the 2005 Donald Trump video that has put the future of his campaign into question.

A source close to “Today” told People magazine that Bush, who is former President George W. Bush and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush’s cousin, will be on the air Monday, and that there are no immediate plans to remove him from the show.

“There have been no discussions of any type of disciplinary action,” the insider told People.

Bush, an “Access Hollywood” host at the time, was the sounding board for Trump’s sexist, arguably sexual assault-advocating comments in the video released Friday by the Washington Post.

He apologized for his role in the video soon after the video’s release.

“Obviously I’m embarrassed and ashamed,” said Bush in a statement. “It’s no excuse, but this happened 11 years ago — I was younger, less mature and acted foolishly in playing along. I’m very sorry.”
