Tesla CEO Elon Musk said he had a “bogus” experience while being tested for the coronavirus recently.
The 49-year-old tech guru tweeted on Friday that he took a series of rapid antigen tests that produced both positive and negative tests.
“Something extremely bogus is going on,” Musk wrote. “Was tested for covid four times today. Two tests came back negative, two came back positive. Same machine, same test, same nurse. Rapid antigen test from BD.”

The rapid antigen test is cheaper and quicker than the more accurate polymerase chain reaction test, which Musk was given, and his results for that test will be provided at a later date. Bloomberg reported Musk was feeling normal symptoms of the common cold.
Musk, who is also CEO of SpaceX, has questioned the efficacy of lockdown measures and recommendations from both the state of California and the federal government throughout the pandemic and claimed the virus was being used as a “practice run” for future outbreaks.
Roughly 150,000 new coronavirus cases were reported in the United States on Thursday, a single-day record.
Musk traveled to Berlin last week via his private jet to conduct in-person interviews in Germany, which is also experiencing an uptick in cases of the virus.
