Obama will visit Virginia Friday before campaign launches

Ohio beat out Virginia for the first stop on President Obama’s campaign kickoff tour, but now the Old Dominion will get to see the commander in chief twice in 24 hours.

Obama will cross the Potomac Friday to make an official White House visit to Washington-Lee High School in Arlington as he continues to put pressure on Congress to prevent interest rate increases on federal student loans.

The president will participate in a round table with students and their parents before addressing juniors and seniors about “the importance of their having a fair shot at an affordable higher education and the skills they need to find a good job,” according to the White House.

Obama will speak to college students Saturday at Ohio State University and Virginia Commonwealth University to reengage young voters in two important swing states.
