“Body and Brain Connection” is a collection of mini games designed to help strengthen your quick-thinking skills. The games are separated into math, logic, memory, reflex and physical categories, with four or five challenges in each — however, there is some crossover between a few of the categories.
While this type of game won’t appeal to the hard-core gaming community, it is a strong addition to the family-oriented games category — a segment the Xbox generally lacks in.
The individual games are pretty quick and grade you after completion. The game tracks your scores a la “Wii Fit” and recommends which games to play each time you turn it on, though you can chose your own challenges as well.
Math games include such challenges as filling in the missing part to a simple equation by kicking whichever soccer ball has the right answer and picking which equation is greater by bracketing it with your arms. However, if you aren’t good at doing math quickly, be prepared to feel quite dumb after playing through those challenges.
There is also a party mode, so at least you can compete with friends and family — so you may not be the only one looking like a fool.
While there are a some issues with a couple of the tutorials, the actual motion game play works very well. The only major problem with the game is the title: “Body and Brain Connection” really only exercises your brain; the “body” part is mostly just flailing around and hoping for the best.
