Indian man bites snake in retaliation

An Indian man bit a snake into pieces and killed it after the snake first sneaked into his house and bit him.

“A snake bit him. So, in turn, he bit it and chewed it into pieces,” Babu Ram, the man’s father, told Reuters on Monday.

Raj Kumar was unwinding at home in Asrauli village in India while having a drink when the snake struck. Kumar was reportedly drunk during the incident.

The snake was believed to be a nonvenomous rat snake, but the man was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

“This is definitely weird,” N.P. Singh, Kumar’s doctor, said. “I’ve seen people coming in with snakebites, but never somebody who bit a snake and then brought it with him in a bag.”

The family cremated the snake to “atone” for their son’s action.
