Woman lied about being the driver in Riverdale crash, police say
A man was cited for fleeing after he crashed a vehicle into an apartment building in Riverdale, and a woman was cited for initially telling police that she was the driver, police said.
A resident on the 6800 block of Riverdale Road told police that early Sunday morning a vehicle crashed through her bedroom window. Initially, 36-year-old Akoswa Haynes told police that she was pulling into a parking space and accidentally pressed the gas pedal instead of the break. Police determined that 39-year-old David Smith was actually the driver.
