Ex-Subway spokesman Jared Fogle names Trump in effort to be freed from child sex, child porn conviction

Jared Fogle, the former Subway spokesman who pleaded guilty to paying for sex with a minor and child pornography charges in 2015, has listed President Trump as a respondent on a petition for a writ of habeas corpus, according to a report.

Fogle reiterates in his petition how he should never have admitted to committing the offenses, per the court documents obtained by TMZ.

A writ for habeas corpus is used to bring a prisoner or detainee before a court to determine whether their imprisonment or detention is lawful.

While the civil legal action is usually taken against a warden, Fogle also included Trump as a respondent.

Fogle’s filing is part of his latest attempt to be released from federal prison after unsuccessfully trying to argue that the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana did not have jurisdiction to oversee his case.

He was sentenced with 15 years and eight months in jail, needing to serve 13 years before becoming eligible for early release.
