A Bethesda-based nonprofit has debuted its newest campaign, a monthlong fundraiser for area military families. Mercy for Me kicked off its efforts with a visit to Walter Reed Army Medical Center on Thursday. The group helps communities in need worldwide, recently focusing on tornado victims in Missouri and earthquake victims in Japan. Their efforts this month are dedicated to helping National Guardsmen and military reservists, and will go toward their new Military Heroes Hardship Relief Fund.
