O’Malley takes 70 mates to China, Korea

Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley is schlepping to China, Korea and Vietnam next week with nearly six dozen elected officials and business leaders to promote economic development, trade and investment between Maryland and the region.

O’Malley plans to attend a number of bio-medical and technology expos over the course of his 10-day trip. He also will meet with the senior leadership of Samsung in Korea and visit a couple Maryland universities with campuses abroad, including the Nanjing Center of Johns Hopkins University and the University of Maryland’s School of Public Policy in Jiangsu Province.

“As our economy grows ever more global, we know we must look beyond our borders for new avenues for trade and investment, particularly those where we share strengths in life sciences and technology,” O’Malley said.
